At Cobblebank, PanelTech Systems has now delivered our fourth SIPs project. This build was completed for End 2 End Construction with the Dawson Built team managing the on-site installation.
This project featured a distinctive gable-style roof that showed the flexibility and visual impact of our prefabricated SIPs. The large roof sections were craned into position smoothly, allowing the structure to come together quickly while maintaining excellent airtightness and thermal performance.
From manufacturing through to installation, our team worked closely with the builders to keep every stage running efficiently.
The result is a fast, low-waste build with reduced labour requirements and a strong, high-performing building envelope designed for long-term durability.
The process
The Cobblebank project was organised to maximise speed, accuracy and safety. Each panel arrived on-site in a planned sequence, which allowed the crew to move efficiently from set-out verification and bottom plate fixing to standing and bracing the wall SIPs. Once the walls were in place, the large roof panels were craned onto the structure with precise, coordinated lifts.
As the build progressed, joints were sealed step by step, making the structure weather-tight in a very short timeframe. This smooth, continuous workflow allowed windows, doors and cladding to be installed straight away, bringing the project to lock-up within only a few days.
Stage 01 - Site Prep & Subfloor
Plates were fixed to the slab and accurately set out before installing the SIPs subfloor system, providing a precise and level base for the build from the very start.
Stage 02 - Wall Panels Installed
SIP wall panels were stood, joined, and braced into position.
Stage 03 - Roof Panels Craned In
Large-format roof SIPs were lifted into place with precision and secured.
Stage 04 - Lock-Up Achieved
Windows, doors, and cladding followed, delivering a weather-tight, secure structure ready for interior trades.
